You are looking at the very first website developed in 1989 and then published August 1991 by physicist and Web Godfather Sir Tim Berners-Lee along with a large team of contributors including Irish physicist, academic, and Internet pioneer Dr. Denis Jennings.

Known as The Project, It was developed whenever Berners-Lee wasn’t in the Particle Physics lab at CERN’s European Nuclear Research. Check out this little piece of history over at CERN

If you like what we’ve done with the place or have suggestions for improvements please let us know, we’d love to get your feedback!
